Woman Goes on Picnic Date, Can’t Believe What He Brings: ‘Revolutionary’
There is nothing more attractive to certain people than initiative.
A video posted to TikTok by Sahira Lora (@sahiralora) went viral after revealing the surprising—and involved—piece of equipment a man brought to their picnic date: a portable griddle. Since the clip was posted on May 8, it has received 4.1 million views, over 678,000 likes and over 4,300 comments.
“When you get invited out for a picnic date and he brings out a portable griddle,” Lora captioned the video. “I thought he was going to just bring basic crackers and cheese, but he succeeded any expectations I had.”
In the video, Lora’s date sits in the grass, facing a waterfront with the portable griddle in tow. The footage shows the item being used for making tacos, which were eventually garnished with fresh onions and cilantro on top.
Viewers in the comments were amazed by the act of initiative, urging Lora to keep seeing the man—and singing the praises of portable griddles as “revolutionary”.
“A portable grill is clutch [extremely good]!” @lalo_2one3 wrote. “Only whack part is the car would be smelling like carne asada [grilled and sliced beef].”
“Portable grill has been one of the best purchases our friend group has made and this gave me a new idea for it,” @camden4041 posted.
“I’d start picking out my wedding dress as soon as I get home,” @chanellemulan commented.
Some made the important point that Lora’s date expectations have now been set astronomically high. “So, when he asks you out to watch the stars, he better bring a spaceship. Expectation set,” @problematicpolarbear wrote.
The Connection Continues
Lora put an update on her TikTok page only three days after her original video was posted—and viewers were happy to know things were going strong.
Dubbing the date “griddle-man” for her audience, Lora posted a carousel of photos revealing the gifts he has given her since their picnic date.
“Griddle-man has been surprising me since I met him, so this picnic is one of the many nice things he has done,” Lora captioned the video. “He has multiple love languages, including gift-giving.”
In the photos, a bouquet of red roses, several dinners and drinks in restaurants, and even a laptop were on display as gifts from the mystery man.
While Lora’s viewers are loving her updates, there’s one she hasn’t quite delivered on yet—her date’s next culinary adventure.
“Definitely can’t wait to see what he cooks for second date,” @donut_2holes wrote.
