Taylor Swift, Jason Kelce Similarities Compared in Side-by-Side Photo
Fans have spotted a striking resemblance between Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift and his brother, fellow NFL star Jason Kelce.
The Philadelphia Eagles center and his wife Kylie Kelce joined the singer to watch the Kansas City Chiefs face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The pair hung out in the luxury suite with Swift’s pal Brittany Mahomes, 28—a former soccer star and the wife of Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Despite playing for different teams, Jason Kelce cheered on his younger brother in the AFC Divisional Playoff at New York’s Highmark Stadium. The 36-year-old went viral for his antics during the game, which included swigging a beer topless.
After the Chiefs scored a touchdown during the first half, a delighted Kelce was photographed joyously hollering, with his enthusiasm quickly becoming a meme.
However, Swifties couldn’t help but notice a similarity between Kelce’s lively cheer and the pop star’s behavior at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The 34-year-old appeared to have the time of her life at the awards show in September, and was spotted dancing, singing along to her favorite acts and struggling to get her drink out of her seat’s cupholder.
Her reactions also became iconic, particularly her response to Shakira’s set. The Colombian pop legend received 2023’s Video Vanguard award, which celebrates industry gamechangers.
Swift clearly enjoyed the 46-year-old’s performance, with the “Anti-Hero” singer filmed screaming wildly with her arms in the air. Her response also became a meme.
After Sunday’s game, fans poked fun at the similarities between Jason Kelce and Swift.
Social media user Courtney uploaded the two memes side-by-side to X, formerly Twitter, with her post quickly going viral.
“Maybe they were always meant to be family?” she wrote alongside the images, which have received over 1.4 million views so far.
“They’re the same picture,” joked Stephanie.
“They will be best friends soon. No doubt. I SO live for this,” said Fide Del Toro.
“She sees his brother as her brother,” commented thurderbolt.
“Taylor can fully be herself with Travis and his family and I love that,” said Miranda.
“If Travis is playing the day of the Grammys, can Taylor take Jason PLEASE!?!” asked Jenna Stiwald.
Newsweek has reached out to Taylor Swift for comment via email and Jason Kelce via Instagram.
Rumors that Swift and Travis Kelce were dating began circling last summer, after the Chiefs’ tight end admitted to having a crush on the music icon.
During an episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with Jason, the 34-year-old said he’d attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it after a gig in Kansas City, but was disappointed to discover that she wasn’t doing meet-and-greets.
However, the Grammy winner heard Kelce’s confession and they began talking. By the time Swift attended her first Chiefs’ game at Arrowhead Stadium in September, the pair were already an item.
The couple appears to be going from strength to strength, with Swift a regular fixture at her boyfriend’s games, sometimes hanging with his mom, Donna Kelce.
She may be dating a Chiefs’ player, but Swift is reportedly a Philadelphia Eagles fan like her father, Scott Swift.
Jason Kelce is reportedly set to retire as the team’s center, after joining the team in 2011. The father-of-three is said to be considering his next career move, which could include TV work or coaching.
