Reason New Grandpa Waits Outside Daughter’s Hospital at 1 A.M. Melts Hearts

One father who made a late-night delivery to his daughter at the hospital has gone viral on TikTok.

Alexandra Rossi (@alexandrarossi2863) shared the video of her dad eagerly waiting at the hospital entrance to bring Rossi her first meal just hours after she gave birth to a baby boy.

The short clip, uploaded on August 1, has been viewed almost 1.5 million times. It shows Rossi’s dad carrying two bags from the fast-food restaurant Whataburger in the early morning hours. The post, set to The White Stripes’ “We’re Going To Be Friends,” was captioned “My dad waiting outside the hospital at 1 am to give me my first meal after birth.”

Thousands of comments poured in, with many sharing their own stories of family support during significant moments while others expressed how the clip brought them to tears.

“Crying because I know my dad would do the exact same thing. Such a blessing to have them,” one TikTok user wrote.

A comment from user @samanthagardner623 that received over 26,000 likes read, “You may of had a baby but you’ll always be his baby.”

Another user resonated with the father’s gesture and shared a similar story from after she had just given birth. She said that her father bought lunch from PDQ Chicken for the nurses as a thank-you for “taking care of his baby girl.”

Rossi, a former professional golfer, commented on how “grateful” she is to have a dad like hers.

Another user commented that they, too, had eaten Whataburger after their post-birth meal and that her mother-in-law had brought a bag of spicy ketchup because she knew how much she loved it.

One woman who is due to give birth at the same hospital as Rossi asked if she had a good experience there.

New mom Rossi replied that she had a huge room and that the staff was great. “It’s my first so I don’t have anything to compare, but very happy to share everything,” she added.

Another comment that moved Rossi was left by user @pumpedwithperi who wrote: “One day your dad is dropping off your lunchbox to school after you forgot it, the next he’s bringing you food after having a baby.”
