JD Vance Reveals His Four Attack Lines vs. Tim Walz

J.D. Vance launched a series of attack lines against Tim Walz soon after the Minnesota governor was announced as Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate.

In a speech in Philadelphia on Tuesday, the Ohio Senator, who was picked to be Donald Trump’s running mate on the GOP ticket, accused Walz of being a “far-left radical” who wants to “ship more manufacturing jobs” to China because of his progressive energy policies.

Vance also attacked Walz for his response to the riots that took place in Minneapolis following the 2020 murder of George Floyd by police, as well as for signing the so-called trans refuge bill, which bans Minnesota from enforcing out of state court orders to remove children from the custody of parents who allow them to get gender-affirming care.

The speech shows the potential strategy Vance will adopt against Walz now they are set to be opposing vice presidential candidates. Walz was credited for starting the attack line that Vance, Trump and other GOP figures are “weird,” and he repeated this phrase during his speech alongside Harris on Tuesday, also in Philadelphia.

Speaking at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia, Vance called Walz’s political record a “joke,” while labeling the governor as “one of the most far-left radicals in the entire United States Government at any level.”

Vance added: “But I think that what Tim Walz’s selection says is that Kamala Harris has bent the knee of the far-left of her party, which is what she always does.

“She selected Tim Walz, a guy who wants to ship more manufacturing jobs to China, who wants to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses and who wants to make the fentanyl crisis so much worse because he refuses to do his job.”

Vance added that people should remember the “rioting in the summer of 2020” amid the Black Lives Matter protests. Walz was criticized for not responding to the disorder in Minneapolis sufficiently, including delaying the deployment of the National Guard to help quell the violence.

“Tim Walz was the guy who let rioters burn down Minneapolis and then Kamala Harris was the one who bailed the rioters out of jail. So there’s an interesting team in that sense,” he said.

Vance also claimed that Walz is a “guy who wants to take children away from their parents if the parents don’t agree to do sex changes,” after the governor signed bills designating Minnesota as a legal refuge for transgender people in May 2023.

“Tim Walz is a guy who wants to ship more and more American manufacturing jobs to China. He said it on camera in the name of the green energy scam,” Vance added.

“Well, if you care about the environment, and I certainly do, why are you going to ship American manufacturing jobs to the dirtiest economy in the world? Why would you keep it right here in Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, in the places that really need it?”

Vance also said he would be willing to take part in a vice presidential debate with Walz, but only after he is confirmed as the Democratic Party’s VP candidate.

“Would it shock me if the Democrats pulled another switcheroo? No, it wouldn’t. So we’re going to wait until they actually nominate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz before we do any debates.”

Walz took shots at Vance during the Democratic rally on Tuesday night, while making referencing to the baseless, but viral, claim that the Ohio Senator wrote about having sex with a couch in his Hillbilly Elegy memoirs

“Like all regular people I grew up with in the heartland, JD studied at Yale, had his career funded by Silicon Valley billionaires, and then wrote a bestseller trashing that community. Come on, that’s not what Middle America is.

“And I got to tell you, I can’t wait to debate the guy,” Walz added. “That is, if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.

“I just have to say it, you know it, you feel it, these guys are creepy and, yes, just weird as hell.”
