How To Fix A Slow Amazon Fire TV Stick
Much like other electronics, your Fire TV Stick might be slowing down due to some common software or hardware issues. Just keep in mind that these instructions may differ slightly depending on the model Fire TV Stick (or operating system) you’re using.
- Restart your Fire TV Stick by opening Settings from the Home Screen, then selecting My Fire TV, followed by Restart. Sometimes, a reset is all you need.
- Your Fire TV Stick may just need an update. Open Settings from the Home Screen, choose My Fire TV (or Device Software), then select About and Check for System Update.
- Clear out your Fire TV Stick’s cache to free up some memory by opening the Settings menu from the Home Screen and then selecting Applications.
- Choose Manage Installed Applications, then select an app and choose Clear cache. Back out to the previous menu and select another app to repeat the process.
- Superfluous or unused apps can use up some of the Fire TV Stick’s memory (both ROM and RAM) — especially if they keep updating in the background. Delete unwanted apps to free up some of that memory.
If your Fire TV Stick still seems to be running slower than it used to or is otherwise lagging, you might need to try something a little more involved.
